Mr Guan Tay is an Australian and UK fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery — including hip and knee replacement, knee reconstruction, arthroscopy, and sports injury treatment. Based in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs, with consulting rooms in Knox, Mount Waverley and Box Hill, he provides expert, patient-centred care for individuals with hip and knee arthritis, injuries, and other joint conditions — helping people return to an active, confident lifestyle.

1. Do I need a referral to see Mr Guan Tay?
No. You’re welcome to book an appointment directly with Mr Tay.
However, a valid referral from your GP or specialist allows you to receive a Medicare rebate for your consultation.
With a referral: You’ll be eligible to claim a rebate from Medicare.
Without a referral: You can still attend your appointment, but you won’t be able to claim a rebate.
If you’re unsure whether your referral is current, our friendly team can help confirm this before your visit.
2. What should I bring to my appointment?
